Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response covers the main features of the cafe redesign, including the addition of outdoor seating and the reconfiguration of internal spaces. You have successfully identified the key changes, such as the introduction of a food-take-away room and the salad bar. However, the overview is slightly underdeveloped; while you mention a 'huge upgrade,' it could be more specific regarding the shift in the cafe's layout and functionality. The report is accurate in its description of the visual data, and you have made relevant comparisons between the 'before' and 'now' states, which satisfies the requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion. The progression of ideas is clear, moving from the general overview to specific details of the old and new layouts. You use basic cohesive devices like 'In general,' 'before,' and 'now' to guide the reader. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes a bit mechanical, and the use of cohesive devices could be more varied to improve the overall cohesion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different stages of the cafe's development.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'reconfigured,' 'accommodate,' and 'functional rooms.' There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'The redesign plan has a considerably larger' (which is grammatically incomplete) and 'capacity of clients' (which is slightly unnatural; 'customer capacity' would be better). While you attempt to use specific vocabulary related to the cafe layout, some phrasing is repetitive. The vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'The graphs illustrates' (subject-verb agreement), 'The redesign plan has a considerably larger' (missing noun), and 'trash bin is upgraded as a recycling bins' (pluralization error). Additionally, 'The current cafe is consisting of' is an awkward use of the present continuous tense; 'consists of' would be more appropriate. While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede the overall communication of the information. You should focus on subject-verb agreement and article usage to improve accuracy.
