The maps below shows two maps of cafeteria one is old and other is after redesigned.

Overall, cafe illustrates some changing in it's design, the kitchen, the toilets and the recycle bin area remains same however, there are significant changes in serving area and outside seating that is redesigned in today's cafe.

As concerned the cafe before redesign, it looked quite simple with narrow places such as small kitchen, combine serving area for all food stuffs and drinks. Moreover, there was small separate dining room, tables and chairs were located at center of the cafe. Therefore, toilets and bins were also present at one side near the main entrance.

However, after redesigning there are some changes take place in cafe. Today's cafe is significantly different from the previous one as it contains a kitchen and a separate area for hot meals also a salad bar and barbecue. Moreover, it changed the staff dinning room into two areas one for take away food and other is coffee bar while the tables and chairs, toilets and recycling bins at their locations. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers the main features of the cafe redesign, including the kitchen, serving areas, and seating. You successfully identify the key changes, such as the addition of the salad bar and the new outdoor seating. However, the report lacks a clear, analytical overview. While you mention some changes, the description of the 'before' state is slightly repetitive and could be more concise. To improve, ensure you clearly contrast the two layouts by grouping features logically rather than listing them. You have successfully highlighted the main differences, which satisfies the requirements of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. You use some cohesive devices like 'However', 'Moreover', and 'Overall' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing, such as 'As concerned the cafe before redesign'. The referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly when describing the location of items. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus. The progression of information is generally logical, but the transitions between sentences could be smoother.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'redesigned', 'significant changes', and 'separate area'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'combine serving area' instead of 'combined serving area' and 'staff dinning room' (spelling error). Some phrasing is also slightly unnatural, such as 'cafe illustrates some changing in it's design'. To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and pay closer attention to word forms and spelling. Expanding your range of descriptive adjectives would also help to provide a more vivid comparison.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('The maps below shows', 'the kitchen... remains same') and article usage ('in cafe', 'at center of the cafe'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some run-on sentences that lack proper conjunctions or full stops. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall clarity. To improve, practice proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensure that complex sentences are constructed with correct punctuation.
