The plans illustrates a redesign of college cafe to introduce new seating area along with introduction of new section to serve coffee and salad.
Overall, over the period the cafe has completely transform to include outdoor seating, takeaways meals and salad bar.
Earlier, the cafe was serving all foods and drink in a designated area located infront of the kitchen. That area has been transformed to a Hot meal section. The Staff dinning rooms are being repurposed into two section - Take away food and Coffee bar- following the same old entrance. Another major change is replacing bins with the recycling ones.
At present, an outdoor seating is introduced with multiple chairs and tables to accomodate maximum people. Nearby the outdoor seating, there is a new Barbecue section. Additionally a salad bar is setup for the people. However, the chairs, tables and toilets ramains at the same position.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response provides a clear overview of the changes, identifying key features such as the new seating, coffee bar, and salad section. However, the response falls short of the 150-word minimum requirement (148 words), which necessitates a penalty. While the main features are covered, the description of the layout changes could be more precise; for example, the mention of 'Staff dinning rooms' being repurposed is a good observation, but the overall summary lacks a slightly more detailed comparison of the spatial shifts. To improve, ensure you meet the word count and provide a more comprehensive analysis of the spatial distribution of the new facilities compared to the original layout.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. The progression of ideas is generally clear, moving from the general transformation to specific details. Cohesive devices such as 'Earlier', 'At present', and 'Additionally' are used to guide the reader through the changes. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the paragraphing could be more balanced. The referencing is generally clear, though the connection between the 'Hot meal section' and the previous layout could be more explicitly linked to improve the flow of information.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing for a clear description of the cafe's redesign. You successfully used terms like 'repurposed', 'transformed', and 'accommodate'. However, there are some minor errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'dinning' instead of 'dining', 'ramains' instead of 'remains', and 'infront' which should be two words. To reach a higher band, aim for more precise collocations and ensure spelling accuracy. The range is sufficient to convey the main points, but lacks the sophistication required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'The plans illustrates' (subject-verb agreement), 'takeaways meals' (incorrect pluralization), and 'an outdoor seating is introduced' (incorrect article usage with an uncountable noun). While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to limit the score. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles with countable and uncountable nouns. Increasing the variety of complex structures while maintaining accuracy will also help raise your score.
