Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5

The response successfully addresses all parts of the task. You have provided a clear overview of the main changes and supported this with specific details from the diagrams. The comparison between the 'before' and 'after' states is logical and easy to follow. To reach a higher band, ensure that you group features more effectively; for example, instead of listing every single change in a sequence, you could group them by 'additions', 'relocations', and 'unchanged areas'. This would demonstrate a more analytical approach to the data rather than just describing the changes chronologically.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'while', 'whereas', and 'moreover' to link ideas. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical. For instance, the transition between the description of the past and the present could be smoother. Additionally, ensure that referencing is precise; for example, 'the same place' is slightly awkward and could be improved by saying 'remained in their original positions'. Overall, the progression of information is clear and easy to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 7.0

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to describe the changes, such as 'extensive development', 'remained unchanged', and 'replaced'. There are some minor inaccuracies, such as 'The maps illustrates' (subject-verb agreement) and 'in the same place' (collocation). You also repeat the word 'area' frequently, which limits the sophistication of your writing. To improve, try to use more varied synonyms for locations or features, such as 'zone', 'section', or 'facility'. Despite these minor issues, the vocabulary is adequate to convey the information clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 7.0

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are some grammatical errors, such as 'The maps illustrates' (should be 'The maps illustrate') and 'on the nothern side' (spelling). You also have some issues with prepositions, such as 'on the north-western area' (should be 'in the north-western area'). While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede communication. To achieve a higher score, focus on ensuring subject-verb agreement and using more varied complex structures, such as passive voice constructions to describe the changes (e.g., 'A salad bar was installed').
