Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to describe the changes to the cafe, but it fails to provide a clear overview or a coherent summary of the main trends. The introduction is poorly phrased and does not effectively set the scene. While some features are mentioned, the description is often confusing, such as the claim that the west side is 'not equally growing.' The report lacks a clear comparison between the 'before' and 'after' states, and the information is presented in a fragmented manner. To improve, you should focus on identifying the most significant changes—such as the expansion of seating and the addition of new facilities—and present these in a structured, logical way that highlights the transformation of the space.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is weak. The use of cohesive devices like 'Firstly' and 'Secondly' is mechanical and does not always connect ideas effectively. Some sentences are disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the spatial changes described. For example, the transition between the north, west, and east sides lacks a clear spatial progression. To improve, ensure that each paragraph has a clear focus and that you use linking words to show relationships between the different areas of the cafe, rather than just listing them in isolation.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate. Phrases like 'at today time' and 'it build' are grammatically incorrect and unnatural. There is a reliance on basic, repetitive language, and some word choices are confusing, such as 'reconstructed into hot meals' (a serving area is reconstructed, not the meals themselves). To reach a higher band, you need to use more precise vocabulary related to describing changes, such as 'converted,' 'expanded,' 'relocated,' or 'refurbished.' Expanding your range of descriptive adjectives and nouns will help you convey the information more clearly and professionally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with verb tenses ('before it build,' 'it rebuild'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure. Many sentences are awkward, such as 'in west there are some part can be improve.' There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the errors in basic grammar are pervasive throughout the text. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that verbs are correctly conjugated and that prepositions are used accurately when describing locations.
