Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers the main features of the cafe redesign well. You successfully identified the areas that remained unchanged, such as the kitchen and toilets, and highlighted the significant additions like the outdoor seating and barbecue facility. The overview provides a clear summary of the changes. To reach a higher band, ensure that all comparisons are precise; for example, you mention the 'staff dining room' was converted, but the diagram shows it was replaced by a 'take away food and coffee bar'. Being more specific with these labels will improve your score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'According to the diagrams', 'Additionally', 'On the other side', and 'Furthermore' to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and there are occasional issues with referencing, such as 'bin same it is which was mentioned', which makes the flow a bit awkward. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents will help you achieve a higher band.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'infrastructure', 'renovated', and 'facilities'. However, there are some word choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'located as same as at place' and 'in nowadays cafe'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To improve, focus on using more natural collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing when describing locations or changes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the cafe', 'the kitchen'), prepositions ('in the central of the cafe'), and verb tense consistency ('are located' vs 'were located'). Some sentences are slightly ungrammatical, such as 'the changes of the new redesigned cafe is important'. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles will significantly improve your accuracy.
