Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to describe the changes between the two plans, but it struggles to clearly communicate the spatial relationships and the nature of the modifications. While it identifies the main features, the description is often confusing, such as 'kitchen, toilets, tables and chairs are at is it', which contradicts the visual evidence of the redesign. The overview is present but lacks clarity, and the reporting of features is hindered by inaccurate descriptions of locations and changes. To improve, you must focus on accurately identifying the specific additions (e.g., the barbecue area) and removals (e.g., the staff dining room) while using precise directional language.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, which is a positive step, but the internal flow is disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or misused, such as 'Afterthat into the middle of all plan' or 'At last to toilets'. The referencing is frequently unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression from the 'before' state to the 'after' state. The logical organization is hampered by the lack of clear transitions between the different areas of the cafe, leading to a somewhat fragmented reading experience.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'thing', 'objects', and 'side'. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'at is it' instead of 'in the same position' and 'serving are replacing' instead of 'the serving area was replaced'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to describe the technical aspects of a floor plan with precision. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more specific terminology related to layout descriptions, such as 'adjacent to', 'relocated', 'expanded', and 'partitioned'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede clarity. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement ('most of thing would be changed', 'cafe area are expand'), tense usage ('kitchen was located', 'some new service add'), and article usage. The sentence structures are predominantly simple, and attempts at more complex sentences are often marred by errors, such as 'the cafe area are expand by thr bartbecue and outdoor seating in bottom side of the cafe'. Significant improvement in basic sentence construction and verb tense consistency is required.
