Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to describe the two plans, but it fails to provide a clear overview or a meaningful comparison of the changes. The description is largely a list of features rather than a summary of the main trends or significant modifications. For example, the mention of 'almost different' is too vague to constitute a proper comparison. The response lacks a clear structure for reporting data, and the information is presented in a way that makes it difficult for the reader to visualize the transformation. To improve, you should identify the most significant changes—such as the addition of the outdoor seating area or the relocation of the kitchen—and group these logically.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response is divided into paragraphs, but the internal flow is weak. The use of cohesive devices is limited and often misused, such as 'therefore their are' at the start and 'first of all disscus about' which is grammatically incorrect and does not function as a logical transition. The progression of ideas is disjointed, relying on a repetitive 'see the...' structure that makes the text feel like a list rather than a coherent report. The referencing is often unclear, making it difficult to follow the spatial layout of the cafe.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is very basic and repetitive, relying heavily on simple verbs like 'see' and 'are'. There are frequent spelling errors, such as 'entrens' for 'entrance' and 'collage' for 'college'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to describe the features of a floor plan with precision. Phrases like 'attached take away food' and 'exit area side is bin' are awkward and lack the necessary precision for an Academic Task 1 report. You need to expand your range of descriptive nouns and verbs related to spatial layout and change.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. There is a consistent confusion between 'there are' and 'their are', as well as significant issues with sentence structure and punctuation. Many sentences are run-on or fragmented, such as 'all food and drinks and thr exit of door we should see bin and toilets'. There is almost no use of complex sentence structures, and the control over basic grammar is inconsistent. The lack of proper subject-verb agreement and incorrect word forms significantly lowers the clarity of the report.
