The pictorial diagram compares the plans of college cafe before it was reconstructed and how it looks today.
Overall, it is evident that the college cafe underwent significant development where, majority of the changes took place in the southern side of cafe. Kitchen area in north-west remained untouched.

The area which was used for staff dinning rooms is now used as take away food and cofee bar.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have successfully identified the main features of the cafe redesign, including the areas that remained unchanged and those that were modified. You provided a clear overview and supported your points with specific details from the diagrams. However, the response could be improved by ensuring more precise comparisons. For instance, you mention the 'serving area' was replaced by 'Hot meals', but describing the spatial shift more clearly would enhance the report. Additionally, ensure all labels are accurately transcribed; for example, you referred to a 'cofee bar' and 'recyling bins', which are minor inaccuracies. Overall, you covered the key changes well, meeting the requirements of the task effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The response is logically organized, with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs that group information by location or type of change. You use cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Subsequently', and 'Furthermore' to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the paragraphing could be more balanced. The referencing is generally clear, though the flow between sentences could be improved by using more varied linking phrases rather than relying on simple sequence markers. Overall, the information is easy to follow, and the progression of ideas is logical throughout the report.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'reconstructed', 'underwent significant development', and 'untouched'. However, there are several spelling errors, such as 'cofee', 'recyling', and 'dinning', which detract from the professional tone. Additionally, some word choices are slightly imprecise, such as 'pictorial diagram' (which is redundant) and 'Bin in the east is updated'. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise terminology for describing spatial changes and ensure accurate spelling of key terms. The vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning, but lacks the flexibility and precision required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'The area which was used for staff dinning rooms is now used as take away food and cofee bar.' While your meaning is always clear, there are frequent errors in articles (e.g., 'majority of the changes', 'in north-west') and some awkward phrasing. Some sentences lack necessary articles or have incorrect preposition usage. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on consistent article usage and refining sentence structure will help improve your grammatical accuracy.
