Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to describe the changes, but it fails to provide a clear, structured overview. It lacks an introduction and a summary of the main trends, instead jumping directly into specific details. The description is often confusing, such as the vague reference to 'not enough things serving areas'. While some features like the outdoor seating and the barbecue area are mentioned, the lack of a logical grouping of information makes it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between the 'before' and 'after' plans. To improve, you should group features logically (e.g., internal changes vs. external additions) and ensure you provide a clear overview of the most significant changes.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response is written as a single, long paragraph, which makes it difficult to read and follow. There is a lack of clear paragraphing to separate the introduction, body, and conclusion. Cohesive devices are largely absent or used incorrectly, such as the repetitive use of 'after redesigned' and 'before'. The flow of ideas is disjointed, and the lack of punctuation makes it hard to identify where one sentence ends and the next begins. To improve, you must use clear paragraphing and a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'In contrast', 'Furthermore', 'Additionally') to connect your ideas logically.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'things', 'changed', and 'good'. There is little attempt to use precise vocabulary related to describing maps or architectural changes, such as 'relocated', 'expanded', 'converted', or 'installed'. Spelling errors are also present, such as 'outisde', 'usefull', 'iteams', and 'kicten'. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your range of vocabulary to include more specific terms for describing spatial changes and ensure accurate spelling throughout your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The grammatical structure is weak, with many run-on sentences and a lack of proper punctuation. There are frequent errors in sentence construction, such as 'As we can see the diagram of before cafe kitchen side and after before kitchen side there was not enough things'. The use of tenses is inconsistent, and there is a lack of complex sentence structures. Many sentences are grammatically incomplete or confusing. To improve, focus on writing shorter, clearer sentences and ensure you use correct subject-verb agreement and punctuation. Practicing the use of relative clauses and passive voice would also help improve your grammatical range.
