Student answer (Band 6.0)
The floor plans illustrate the expansion and renovation of a university's cafeteria which covers the floor plan of past design and today's design.
Overall, the cafeteria has been expanded and some of the main things such as outdoor seating is introduced.
To discuss the old design, there were entrance in the east side, facing the staff dining rooms. beside the entrance, there was a bin and then toilets. Moreover, the area was mainly in rectangular shape with a separate area for kitchen and serving area for food and drinks. All the other space included tables and chairs.
On the other hand, cafe's redesign changes many things such as staff dining room is converted into take away food and coffee bar. The bin is replaced with more recycling bins. After that, toilet stays same with one door placed just beside of it and one at last. On the west side, salad bar is added inside cafe and a barbecue and outdoor siting is organized outside the cafe.
