Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which negatively impacts the task achievement score. While you have identified some key features of the cafe redesign, the description is somewhat repetitive and lacks a clear, analytical overview. You mention changes in the north and south, but the reporting of specific features is inconsistent and occasionally confusing (e.g., mentioning 'barbacua' and 'hot meals' in different paragraphs). To improve, ensure you provide a more structured comparison between the two plans and ensure the word count is sufficient to cover all significant changes in detail.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is hindered by frequent errors in punctuation and sentence structure. While you use some cohesive devices like 'moreover' and 'additionally', they are often used mechanically or with incorrect punctuation. The progression of ideas is sometimes difficult to follow because the sentences are fragmented or poorly connected. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words correctly and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that contributes to the overall summary of the changes.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and contains several spelling errors, such as 'barbacua', 'persent', 'mape', and 'evedent'. You rely on basic vocabulary to describe the changes, such as 'changes' and 'reconstruct'. To reach a higher band, you should aim for more precise terminology related to describing maps and changes, such as 'transformed', 'converted', 'relocated', or 'expanded'. Additionally, proofreading for basic spelling mistakes is essential, as these errors distract the reader and suggest a lack of attention to detail.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('kitchen... rmained'), article usage, and sentence construction ('in today cafe have several changes'). The range of structures is limited, and the errors are persistent, which occasionally impedes the clarity of your message. You should focus on mastering basic sentence structures, specifically ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and practicing the correct use of prepositions and articles. Reducing these frequent errors will significantly improve the readability of your writing.
