Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response provides a clear overview of the main changes, such as the addition of the outdoor seating and the reconfiguration of the serving areas. You successfully identified the key features, including the new hot meal station, coffee bar, and barbeque area. However, the report lacks precision in describing the spatial layout. For instance, you mention the 'staff dinning rooms' being replaced, but the prompt implies a general redesign of the cafe space. To improve, ensure you use more precise comparative language and avoid over-generalizing. While the main features are covered, the description of the 'before' and 'after' states could be more systematically organized to help the reader visualize the transformation more clearly.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of the description. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To start with', 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly repetitive. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'that major change is been made', where the antecedent is not perfectly linked. Paragraphing is present, but the transition between the description of the interior changes and the exterior additions could be smoother to enhance the overall flow of the report.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'reconstruction', 'redesigning', and 'serving station'. However, there are several spelling errors ('blue prints' instead of 'blueprints', 'dinning' instead of 'dining', 'dring' instead of 'drinks', 'salab' instead of 'salad') and some awkward word choices. The vocabulary is generally functional but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. To improve, focus on using more accurate terminology for describing architectural changes and ensure you proofread for basic spelling errors, which currently detract from the professional tone of the report.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('plans shows', 'difference are been made'), incorrect tense usage ('is been made', 'is not been changed'), and missing articles. While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and passive voice construction prevent the writing from reaching a higher band. To improve, focus on mastering the passive voice (e.g., 'was replaced', 'has been installed') and ensuring consistent subject-verb agreement throughout your sentences.
