The plans below show a college cafe before it was redesigned and how it looks now.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The layouts depicts a school restaurant in the past and how it looks after renovation.

Overall, the new building has a lot of changes compared to the former. The staff dining rooms has been transformed to take away food and coffee bar while on the left side barbecue and salad bar has been introduced. An outdoor seating area has also been included. In addition the serving area is now for hot meals.

To begin with, the old structure had a kitchen and opposite to the kitchen is serving area for all food and drinks. At the central area, there is tables and chairs. Moreso, on the left side there is bine and toilets and it has only one entrance.

The redesigned building has numerous changes. Firstly, there are three entrances to the cafe and a outdoor seating spot. Secondly, Take away food and coffee bar was used to replace the staff dinning room. Finally, the bin is now recycling bin while salad bar was added on the left side and a barbecue area is built outside.
