Student answer (Band 6.0)

The diagrams illustrate the before and after of renovating a cafe at a college.

Overall, significant changes had been made to provide convenience to the customers. Staff dining rooms were replaced and outdoor seating was also introduced.

Before redesigning the cafe, there was a serving area in front of the kitchen. On the south-east two rooms were dedicated to staffs as their dining rooms. Moreover, a bin was located at the east and toilets in the bottom right corner. Tables and chairs were arranged at the centre.

After renovations, serving area was replaced by hot meals. The staff dining rooms were cleared and two new rooms were constructed i.e. take away food and a coffee bar. In addition, salad bar (in the middle of the edge) and barbecue facility in the lower left section was also acquainted for people. Along with that outdoor seating was also added to the cafe. Also, toilets and the bin area remained unchanged.
