The plans below show a college cafe before it was redesigned and how it looks now.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The diagrams illustrate the changes that took place in a college cafe and its current configurations.

Overall, the college cafe underwent significant redevelopment with the addition of several new facilities such as outdoor seating, barbecue, salad bar, hot meals, takeaway food and coffee bar. On the other hand, different services have been demolished like serving aera and staff dining rooms.

Regarding new construction and modifications, the staff dining rooms in the northern side of the cafe were replaced with take away food and coffee bar counters. In the southern side, outdoor seating area was constructed. Similarly, barbecue building was established beside outdoor seating area.

Additionally, tables and chairs location remained unchanged and it was still at the centre of cafe. New amenities salad bar was introduced in the western side of cafe in front of recycling bins whereas toilets were still in the southwest corner of the cafe near with recycling bins. In the opposite side of the kitchen serving area was replaced with hot meals area.
