Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers the main features of the cafe redesign, including the new food stations and the outdoor seating area. You have successfully identified the key changes, such as the conversion of the staff dining room and the addition of recycling bins. However, the report lacks a clear overview of the spatial transformation; while you mention it is more spacious, you could have more explicitly contrasted the overall flow of the cafe. The description of the kitchen and toilets remaining in their original location is accurate, but the report would benefit from more precise directional language to guide the reader through the layout changes.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized into three paragraphs: an introduction, a description of internal changes, and a description of external/additional changes. The progression of ideas is generally clear. You use some cohesive devices like 'Another significant change' and 'Furthermore' to link your points. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and the referencing could be improved; for instance, 'which was now converted' is grammatically awkward and disrupts the flow. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate, and the information is presented in a way that is easy to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'renovation', 'converted', and 'introduced'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'spacious space' (redundant) and 'remain same' (should be 'remain the same'). You attempt to use descriptive language, but the range is somewhat limited. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise collocations related to spatial descriptions, such as 'reconfigured', 'relocated', or 'designated area'. The vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly without causing confusion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'Before renovation cafe had' (missing article), 'is been replaced' (incorrect passive voice), and 'This provide students' (subject-verb agreement error). While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede communication. You have attempted to use passive voice, which is appropriate for this task, but the execution is inconsistent. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles would significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
