Student answer (Band 5.0)
overall i can notice alot of changing after the cafe redesigned for better efficency.
by simply viewing the map of new one 1st thing i noticed is dining rooms have been divided into two sections of Take away food and Coffee bar.
While in kitchen serving area is bit modified and in front of kitchen there is salad bar is added and outside the cafe they have added a barbecue counter as well as outdoor seatings.
these all the changes have been made to make cafe more productive and increase its capacity and provide variety of food to students and increasing seating for people to reduce the quene for table and chairs inside and they have establised counters outside for someone who likes too eat outside and one who want to enjoy the weather along with the food.
newly desigend cafe also attract the new students to eat something ass they added healthier options too.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response identifies some key features, such as the division of the dining area and the addition of the barbecue counter. However, the report lacks a clear overview and fails to provide a structured comparison between the 'before' and 'after' states. The analysis is somewhat superficial, focusing more on the perceived purpose of the changes (e.g., 'to make cafe more productive') rather than a factual description of the spatial changes shown in the diagrams. To improve, you should group information logically and ensure all significant changes are clearly described without relying on speculation about the cafe's efficiency.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a formal structure, consisting of a single paragraph that makes it difficult to follow the progression of ideas. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link sentences, and the transition between the description of the layout and the explanation of the changes is abrupt. The use of referencing is weak, with phrases like 'these all the changes' being grammatically awkward. To achieve a higher band, you must use clear paragraphing—typically an introduction, a summary of main features, and two body paragraphs—and employ a wider range of linking words such as 'furthermore', 'in contrast', or 'consequently'.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. Words like 'added' are used multiple times, and the phrasing is often informal or imprecise, such as 'alot of changing' and 'new one'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'quene' (spelling error) and 'someone who likes too eat'. To improve, you should aim to use more precise terminology related to diagrams and spatial descriptions, such as 'relocated', 'transformed', 'extended', or 'adjacent to'. Expanding your range of descriptive adjectives and nouns will help convey information more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with article usage ('the map of new one'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure. Many sentences are run-on or lack proper punctuation, such as the final sentence which is a long, poorly connected string of clauses. The range of structures is limited to simple or compound sentences with little evidence of complex grammatical forms. Focusing on basic sentence construction, correct verb tenses, and consistent punctuation will significantly improve the readability and accuracy of your writing.
