Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have successfully identified the main features of the cafe redesign, such as the removal of staff rooms and the addition of new food service areas. However, the response lacks a clear, analytical overview. While you mention that modifications took place, you do not highlight the most significant changes (e.g., the shift from staff-focused areas to customer-focused dining). Additionally, some descriptions are slightly inaccurate, such as stating the kitchen remained the same when the plan shows it was relocated. To improve, ensure you group information logically rather than just listing features, and provide a more comprehensive summary of the overall transformation.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is generally coherent, and the information is organized into logical paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices like 'Turning to the details' and 'Meanwhile' to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. The transition between the 'before' and 'after' sections is clear, but the flow within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to show contrast or sequence more naturally. Paragraphing is present, but the structure of the sentences within those paragraphs occasionally feels disjointed.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'redesigned', 'modifications', and 'facilities'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'illustrate about' (should be 'illustrate') and 'the lot of modifications' (should be 'a lot of' or 'numerous'). You also rely on basic phrasing to describe locations. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise vocabulary related to spatial descriptions, such as 'situated in the north-west quadrant' or 'replaced by'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'the maps show the lot of modifications have taken place' (missing 'that'), 'staffs changing rooms' (incorrect pluralization), and 'tables and chairs are remained same' (incorrect passive voice). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points, they indicate a need for more careful proofreading and a better grasp of subject-verb agreement and passive constructions.
