The plans below show a college cafe before it was redesigned and how it looks now.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The diagram illustrates the architecture of a college cafe with a before and after comparision plan.

Overall, take away food, coffee bar, and the salad bar sections have been replaced or added in the current cafe design compared with the old one. A new section of barbecue and an outdoor seating section can also be seen in the present cafe.

Initially, there was a main serving area in the northern side just opposite to the kitchen that was replaced by the hot meals section in present cafe. The staff dinning section was replaced with 2 sepearte sections, the take away section followed by the coffee bar. Additionally, the bins were replaced with the recyling bins.

In the left side of the take away foo a new section of salad bar has been added in the present cafe. 2 new sections the barbecue section and outdoor seating facility is also additioned in the new cafe. Whereas, the location of toilets and the kitchen is same in both designs.
