Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have successfully identified the main features of the cafe redesign, including the relocation of the serving area and the addition of new facilities like the salad bar and barbecue area. You covered all parts of the task and provided a clear overview. However, the response could be improved by ensuring the comparisons are more precise. For example, you mention the 'staff dining rooms' changed into 'take away food', but you could have more clearly contrasted the spatial shift from the north-west to the south-west. The overview is functional but could be more analytical regarding the overall transformation of the space.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The response is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs detailing the 'before' and 'after' states. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Additionally', 'Furthermore', and 'however' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by mechanical phrasing and some awkward transitions. For instance, the sentence 'After, renovation some changes has been made' is slightly disjointed. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two time periods, which helps the reader follow the progression of the changes effectively.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'redevelopment', 'renovation', and 'introduced'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'relocate some places' (should be 'relocated some facilities') and 'simple bin is now replaced' (should be 'the simple bin'). While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the meaning, it lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band. You rely on some repetitive structures when describing the changes, which limits the sophistication of the response.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('some changes has done', 'two rooms that was') and missing articles ('at the left side of the corner'). While these errors do not impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. To improve, focus on ensuring that plural subjects have plural verbs and that articles are used consistently before nouns. The attempt at complex sentences is evident, but the control over these structures needs to be more consistent.
