Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have successfully identified the main features of the cafe redesign, including the new additions and the areas that remained unchanged. Your overview provides a clear summary of the transformation. However, the report could be improved by ensuring more precise descriptions of the spatial changes. For instance, you mention 'two incoming and outgoing doors was introduced at the either sides', which is slightly confusing in relation to the visual data. To reach a higher band, ensure that all comparisons are clearly linked to the specific locations on the plan, as some descriptions of the 'left side' or 'bottom' could be more accurately mapped to the provided diagram to ensure the reader can follow the changes without ambiguity.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is logically organized into paragraphs, moving from an overview to specific details. You use cohesive devices such as 'In contrast', 'Moreover', and 'Looking at' to guide the reader through the information. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by minor mechanical errors in phrasing, such as 'In contrast the kitchen and toilet remained unchanged' (missing a comma after 'contrast'). Additionally, the referencing is sometimes slightly unclear, such as when describing the doors. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring punctuation is used consistently would help the progression of ideas feel more natural and sophisticated.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You have used a sufficient range of vocabulary to describe the changes, such as 'reconverted', 'redesign', and 'original location'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'changes that had done' (should be 'had been made') and 'many seating are arranged' (should be 'seating areas'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over verb forms and noun phrases. To improve, focus on using more academic collocations related to describing diagrams and spatial changes, ensuring that your word choices are consistently accurate and appropriate for a formal report.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt to use passive voice ('is replaced', 'are added'), there are frequent grammatical slips throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues like 'several facilities are being added' (should be 'were added' to match the past tense context) and 'two incoming and outgoing doors was introduced' (should be 'were introduced'). These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points. To achieve a higher band, focus on maintaining consistent tense usage throughout the report and ensuring subject-verb agreement in complex sentences.
