Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the cafe redesign, such as the new outdoor seating, salad bar, and the conversion of the coffee bar into staff rooms. However, the report lacks precision in describing the spatial layout. For instance, stating 'If we talk about kitchen, table, chairs and toilets they all are remain unchanged' is a broad generalization that lacks the analytical detail required for a higher band. The overview is present but somewhat simplistic. To improve, you should focus on grouping the information more logically (e.g., structural changes versus functional changes) and ensuring that comparisons between the 'before' and 'after' states are more clearly articulated with specific reference to the provided visual data.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is organized into paragraphs, but the flow is frequently interrupted by mechanical errors and awkward transitions. Phrases like 'If we looking at' and 'If we talk about' are informal and do not function well as cohesive devices. While there is an attempt to use linking words like 'Furthermore' and 'Moreover', they are often punctuated incorrectly or used in a way that disrupts the logical progression of ideas. The referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the spatial changes described. Improving the variety and accuracy of cohesive devices will significantly enhance the readability of your report.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. You rely on basic verbs like 'is' or 'are' and struggle with accurate collocations. For example, 'newly development' is grammatically incorrect; 'newly developed' or 'a new addition' would be more appropriate. There are also issues with word choice, such as 'facilates us', which is not suitable for an academic report. The range of vocabulary is sufficient to convey the basic message, but it lacks the precision and sophistication expected at higher levels. You should aim to use more precise terminology related to maps and floor plans, such as 'relocated', 'expanded', 'partitioned', or 'transformed'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement ('college cafe have', 'this are expanded') and tense usage ('they all are remain'). Sentence structures are largely simple or contain errors when attempting complexity. Punctuation is also problematic, with missing spaces after commas and periods, which affects the overall presentation. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb forms, and improving your control over punctuation. Reducing these frequent errors is essential for clearer communication.
