Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, as it is only 80 words long. Consequently, the task is not fully addressed. The summary is incomplete, stopping abruptly after only a few sentences. While there is an attempt to identify some features, such as the kitchen and the serving area, the description of the 'after' state is fragmented and lacks the necessary detail and comparison required for a full task response. To improve, you must complete the description of all major changes and ensure the response reaches the required length.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The response lacks a clear structure. While there is an attempt at an introduction and an overview, the body paragraphs are not developed, and the text ends mid-sentence. Cohesive devices are used in a very basic and sometimes inaccurate way, such as 'in addition, outer door and hot meals', which does not logically connect the ideas. Paragraphing is attempted but is ineffective due to the incomplete nature of the writing. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a clear topic and that ideas are linked using appropriate transition words.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary is very limited and contains several spelling errors, such as 'digrams' (diagrams), 'collage' (college), 'morden' (modern), 'dinning' (dining), 'entrence' (entrance), 'toliet' (toilet), and 'bottam' (bottom). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to describe the visual information accurately. You need to focus on learning specific vocabulary related to describing maps and layouts, such as 'relocated', 'expanded', 'converted', and 'adjacent to', while also paying closer attention to spelling.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with verb tense, word order, and sentence structure. For example, 'the cafe has become more morden' and 'it can been clearly seen'. The sentence fragments and lack of punctuation further hinder clarity. The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with errors. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect verb forms.
