Recently, college redesigned its cafe furthurmore add some new facilities in the cafe. First diagram shows how cafe looks like before redeigning while second diagram shows redesigned cafe. We can see a clear difference between these two diagrams.

First of all, in kitchen section, serving area where all food and drinks have placed is replaced with Hot meals. In addition, staff dinning rooms are also replaced with take away food and coffee bar. In the hall, new salad bar and recycling bin is added. While the indoor seating area remains same.

In outdoor, a new seating area is created. Around five tables are placed. Beside this, a barbecue corner is also added which provides great taste. To get access to outdoor seating, two small doors are added in the cafe.

In conclusion, after redesigning many new things or improvement have done in this cafe. New designed cafe is much more convinent than the cafe before.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The candidate addresses the task by summarising the main features of the college cafe before and after its redesign. Key modifications, such as the changes in the kitchen and serving counters, the addition of a salad bar, and the introduction of outdoor seating and a barbecue, are correctly identified. However, the response contains some unsupported or evaluative commentary that goes beyond objective reporting, such as stating that the barbecue 'provides great taste'. Furthermore, the overview provided in the introduction and conclusion is rather basic and repetitive. Overall, all parts of the prompt are covered, but the development of ideas lacks the precision and formal academic tone expected at higher bands.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The text is organized into four short paragraphs, representing an introduction, the indoor changes, the outdoor changes, and a brief conclusion, which provides a basic overall structure. However, logical progression within paragraphs is sometimes hindered by awkward transitions and repetitive sentence openings, such as starting multiple sentences with 'In addition' or 'First'. Cohesive devices are used in a mechanical and limited fashion, and referencing is occasionally unclear (e.g., 'Newly designed cafe is much more convinent than the cafe before'). Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal flow and cohesion require better integration to achieve a higher band.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate to convey basic information about the plans, such as 'kitchen', 'serving area', 'salad bar', and 'outdoor seating'. However, the range is quite limited and repetitive. There are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, including 'furthurmore', 'redeigning', 'dinning', and 'convinent'. Attempts to use less common vocabulary are either inaccurate or overly informal, such as describing the barbecue as providing 'great taste', which is unsuitable for an academic task. These lexical inadequacies occasionally cause slight strain for the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar and punctuation is inconsistent. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as missing articles ('Recently, college redesigned its cafe'), incorrect prepositions ('in outdoor'), and subject-verb agreement or tense issues ('improvement have done'). Complex structures are often faulty, and punctuation is sometimes neglected. While the meaning remains mostly clear despite these errors, the high frequency of inaccurate structures places the response firmly within the Band 5 descriptor for grammatical accuracy.
