Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count of 150 words, stopping abruptly at 133 words with an incomplete final sentence ('As further scrunity reveals at present , several'). Furthermore, the student attempts to summarise the main features and changes between the two plans, identifying modifications such as the hot meals counter, coffee bar, and outdoor seating. However, the description is disjointed and incomplete. The failure to complete the task due to under-length severely limits the development of ideas, placing this criterion at band 4.5.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The text lacks a clear overall progression and suffers from abrupt paragraph breaks and incomplete thoughts. While there are some cohesive devices used, such as 'From am overall analysis', 'Moreover', and 'While', their usage is often mechanical or inaccurate ('From am overall analysis'). Paragraphing is disjointed, and the response ends mid-sentence, preventing any coherent conclusion. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the lack of a finished structure significantly hinders readability, leading to a band 4.0 for this criterion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text (e.g., 'givev' instead of given, 'managed' instead of redesigned, 'am overall analysis' instead of an overall analysis, 'scrunity' instead of scrutiny). While the student attempts some task-specific vocabulary related to the floor plans (such as 'Kitchen', 'serving area', 'coffee bar', 'Salad bar'), the lexical range is limited and inaccuracies impede communication in places, resulting in a band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The grammatical structures attempted include both simple and some complex forms, but control is weak. There are frequent errors in tense usage, prepositions, articles, and word forms (e.g., 'was in North', 'has redesigned into', 'the table and chairs was settled'). Punctuation and spacing are also faulty throughout. Because the response is unfinished and contains persistent grammatical errors that strain comprehension, it meets the descriptors for band 4.5.
