Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 7.0)

The maps illustrates the contrasting differences in the floor plan of a college cafe, prior and post the redevelopment.

At a cursory glance it is evident that the most significant change between the two appears to be the inclusion of the barbecue area and the outdoor seating arangements along the premises of the building. Along with this the entrances of the vicinity, placement of table and chairs in the middle of the cafe, the kitchen, toilets and bins remain in the same locations.

Initially, the kitchen was withholding a designated serving area to serve all kinds of food and drinks, currently this spot is designated for serving only the hot meals to the customers. The two rooms right infront of the entrance of the cafe, early on were staff dining rooms retaining the dining tables. These rooms have now been transformed into seperated take away food area and a coffee bar.

Additionally, there has been an inclusion of a salad bar inside the vicinity and a barbecue bar outside the cafe. The bins placed by the entry gates have been redesigned in to slighly larger specifically recycling bins. The introduction of a large outdoor seating area infront of the barbecue bar, accompanied with the meticulous arrangement of the dining furniture indicate the growing popularity of the cafe.
