Student answer (Band 6.0)
The first plan illustrates the design of a college cafe how it looked back then, on the other hand the second plan demonstrates the design of the same cafe at present, after it was redesigned.
In comparison with the previous design, new design is equipped with a mutiple number of new features such as a salad bar, a hot meals section, a take away food section, a coffee bar, increase in number of recycling bins, an outdoor babecue place and an outdoor seating.
Comparing the placements and design of the new cafe with the previous design indicates that the kitchen's space, place and design remains the same. However, the service area in new design is repaced with hot meals section along with the replacement of both dinning rooms, one with a takeaway section and other with a coffee bar.Location of bins remains the same next to the toilets but the number is increased in new design. Salad bar is located opposite to the recycling bins. Barbecue section and outdoor seating is designed on outer side of the wall, which is located at the right hand of salad bar.
