Student answer (Band 7.0)

The plans illustrate how a college cafe was redesigned and how it looks after the changes.

Overall, the cafe today has outdoor seating that was not present before and the indoor area has seen a change of the indoor room roles and addition of a new salad bar.

What remains the same in both plans is the kitchen area in the upper left of the shown plans, alongside the location of the toilets. The small changes however are regarding the replacement of the serving area for the current location of hot meals near the kitchen. A similar role change is observed that in the present, one of the staff dining rooms is for take away food and the other for a coffe bar.

A new addition to the main indoor area is the salad bar in the left, that had not been previously before. In the opposite direction, right by the door a singular bin has been replaced by recycling bins. In the old plan there was no outdoor seating, however that has changed. The outside area consists of seats and a designated barbecue area.
