Student answer (Band 6.0)
The two plans illustrate the modernization of the structure of a college cafe.
Overall, there is a major development in the college cafe to make the place more modern, improve customer service and expand the seating capacity.
At first, the cafe had a kitchen with serving area on the north west corner of the building. They converted the staff dining area at the front into a takeaway food and a coffee bar to make it more convenient for the customers to get a meal and drinks. They used the vacant space to make a new outdoor seating area for the students and staff who want to enjoy their meal at the very bottom of the college cafe.
Additionally, they added a salad bar on the west of the hall, and they have developed a barbecue at the bottom southwest corner where people can have grilled food. The toilets remain at their place and they replaced bins with recycling bins to collect the garbage and recycle it which also make the environment clean.
