Student answer (Band 7.0)

The plans show how a college cafe has changed after being redesigned. Overall, the cafe has been significantly improved, with several new facilities added for students. However, the kitchen and toilet areas have remained unchanged.

Before the redesign, there was a serving area for all food and drinks next to the kitchen. This area has now been replaced by a hot meals area. The two staff dining rooms in the centre of the cafe have also been removed. In their place, there is now a take-away food area and a coffee bar. The main area with tables and chairs has stayed in the same position.

Another major change is the addition of a salad bar on the western side of the cafe. The old bin on the eastern side has also been replaced with recycling bins. In addition, a new barbecue area has been built outside the cafe. This outdoor area also includes several tables and chairs, providing outdoor seating for students. Two new gates have been added to give access to this area.
