Student answer (Band 6.0)

The given layout Illustrates the changes that have taken place in a college cafe before and after its redesign.

Overall, the cafe has undergone significant redevelopment, with several changes made to its layout and facilities. Mainly, an outdoor seating area and a barbecue have been added, while the staff dining rooms have been replaced with takeaway and coffee-bar counters. A salad bar has also been introduced inside the cafe.

Firstly, before redesigning there were two staff dining rooms which have been replaced with food take away and coffee bar. Moreover, the area which was serving area earlier, now has replaced with hot meals. Whereas kitchen and toilets stayed exactly same at a place where it were before.

Furthermore, recyling bins have taken over the place of normal bin as shown in the plan. While, new area namely salad bar has introduced inside the cafe. Besides this, tables and chair remained same as before. Major additions are the outdoor seating arrangement and barbecue, which has made the design of a cafe better than before.
