Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response attempts to cover the main features of the two maps, noting the transformation of the staff dining rooms and the serving area, as well as the addition of outdoor seating, a barbecue, and a salad bar. However, the student includes a significant amount of speculative, informal, and irrelevant commentary that is not presented in the source data, such as claiming people can 'enjoy with their family while having a delicious food' or 'take breath in the fresh air, feel comfortable.' Furthermore, some factual misreadings occur, such as stating there were 'huge staff dinning rooms' (they were actually two small rooms) and claiming the toilets remained the same when the source data confirms they are unchanged, but the elaboration lacks formal academic tone. This falls under Band 5.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The text is divided into short paragraphs, but the overall structure and logical progression are hindered by poor paragraphing and abrupt transitions. Sentences like 'While on the other hand, the serving area has been replaced with the hot meals. The hot meals has been builded there...' show weak cohesion and repetitive phrasing. Reference words are sometimes ambiguous, and punctuation errors (such as missing spaces after periods, e.g., 'meals. The' and 'kitchen. so') disrupt the flow. The cohesive devices used are basic and occasionally inaccurate, leading to a choppy reading experience that warrants a Band 5 score.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, with frequent word-choice errors and unnatural collocations. Examples include 'staff dinning rooms' (spelling error for dining), 'custumers', 'builded' (instead of built), and 'take away food'. The student attempts some less common vocabulary such as 'redesigned' and 'unchanged', but the lexical range is severely limited by frequent spelling errors ('construted', 'remaind') and inappropriate colloquial or descriptive additions ('delicious food', 'natural views'). This demonstrates a limited vocabulary control characteristic of Band 5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response displays a very limited range of grammatical structures. While there are a few attempts at complex sentences using 'While', these are often poorly constructed and punctuated incorrectly. There are numerous grammatical errors throughout the text, including passive voice errors ('has been builded'), subject-verb agreement issues ('a toilets... remaind'), missing articles ('a toilets', 'a recycling'), and frequent fragment sentences or comma splices ('kitchen. so that they can...'). These persistent errors frequently cause strain for the reader, aligning closely with the descriptors for Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0.
