the map shows a college cafe and it is redesinged ,there are sevaral changes that has happend currently such as serving area recycling bins

the cafe used to have a very simple design as well as it did'nt have more organized space like it has now, there are some major changes too such as they just used to have staff dining rooms however now they have one take away food in addition cooffe bar too.there were no salad bar .and they changed serving area to hot meals, they did'nt chage the toilet placement it is still in the left corner side from the entrence

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The student attempts to address the task by comparing the college cafe before and after its redesign. While some key changes are mentioned, such as the addition of the salad bar, outdoor seating, and the barbecue area, the response remains very basic and lacks a clear, comprehensive overview. Several features are described vaguely or inaccurately; for instance, the toilets are stated to be in the left corner, whereas they are actually in the bottom-right corner. Furthermore, the information is presented in a fragmented manner without adequate development or precise reporting of spatial changes, placing it firmly at Band 4.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response shows a very weak attempt at paragraphing and structuring. The text is divided into four short blocks, but punctuation and capitalization are largely ignored throughout (e.g., lowercase starting letters, run-on clauses linked improperly by commas). Cohesive devices are minimal and mechanical, relying heavily on additive transitions like 'and' or 'now'. There is no clear overall progression or logical sequencing of spatial features, leading to disjointed reading. Consequently, coherence and cohesion suffer significantly, warranting a Band 4.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is very basic, repetitive, and restricted to simple everyday terms such as 'cafe', 'table', 'chairs', 'food', and 'outside'. There are numerous spelling errors ('redesinged', 'sevaral', 'happend', 'cooffe', 'bar', 'outter') and improper word formations. The student attempts a few topic-specific terms from the prompt ('serving area', 'recycling bins', 'barbecue'), but the overall lexical range is inadequate for an academic task, resulting in a Band 4.0 score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

Grammatical control is weak throughout the response. The text consists largely of simple and poorly controlled compound sentences connected with comma splices (e.g., 'the map shows a college cafe and it is redesinged ,there are sevaral changes...'). There is a near-total absence of accurate complex structures, and tense usage is inconsistent. Punctuation is faulty, with spaces incorrectly placed before commas and missing periods at sentence endings. These frequent errors cause considerable difficulty for the reader, aligning with Band 4.0.
