Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response is under the minimum word count of 150 words, stopping at 119 words, which restricts the depth of the evaluation. While the candidate attempts to summarize the main features of the maps, such as the changes to the serving area and the addition of outdoor seating, the overview is poorly formulated and difficult to follow ("Overview, after redesigning in cafe so many options are added..."). Key features are mentioned, but comparisons and details are underdeveloped, reflecting a partial coverage of the task. To improve, you should write a more comprehensive overview of the major global changes and ensure the word count requirement is fully met.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The organization of the response lacks a clear overall progression. Although some basic cohesive devices are used (e.g., "First of all", "On the other hand"), referencing is sometimes unclear, and the paragraphing is underdeveloped. The flow is disrupted by awkward transitions and repetitive sentence patterns. To achieve a higher band, ideas must be grouped more logically into cohesive paragraphs, and transitions should connect sentences smoothly without mechanical repetition.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and barely adequate for the task. Words and phrases like "so many options", "limited sources", and "remain same" are basic and repetitive. There are also inappropriate word choices and collocations, such as saying "On the place of staff..." instead of "In place of". To improve, you need to expand your lexical range by using more precise academic vocabulary suited to describing diagram changes, such as "transformed", "replaced", or "converted".
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The grammatical structures are very limited, relying heavily on simple sentences and faulty attempts at complex ones. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including tense inconsistencies and preposition errors (e.g., "after redesigning in cafe so many options are added", "they add two new options"). Punctuation and sentence boundaries also need attention. To improve, you should practice constructing accurate complex sentences with a mix of clauses to demonstrate better control over grammar.
