Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

The response successfully addresses all parts of the task by reporting the main features and making relevant comparisons between the two plans. You clearly identified key changes, such as the removal of staff dining rooms, the addition of the salad bar, coffee bar, and outdoor seating, and noted features that remained unchanged, like the kitchen and toilets. The overview paragraph captures the primary transformations well. However, some details are slightly over-generalized or lack precise spatial referencing, which keeps the response at this level. To reach higher bands, you could ensure every key feature is described with greater precision regarding its exact location and relationship to other parts of the plan.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement and follows a logical structure by dividing the information into an introduction, an overview, an indoor comparison, and an outdoor comparison. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different aspects of the visual data. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty, with repetitive transitions such as 'Firstely looking the indoor' and 'Regarding the outdoor'. Referencing and logical progression could be smoother. To improve, you need to use a wider variety of cohesive devices more naturally and ensure that sentences flow into one another without abrupt shifts.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, demonstrating attempts at less common items such as 'infrastructure', 'redevelopment', and 'recycled'. However, there are noticeable lexical errors, awkward word choices, and spelling mistakes throughout the text, such as 'dipicts' instead of depicts, 'alot' instead of a lot, and 'loction' instead of location. Some phrases like 'barbecue bar' are unnatural collocations. To achieve a higher band, you need to expand your range of vocabulary, improve spelling accuracy, and use precise collocations appropriate for describing visual data.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writing shows a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but it is marred by frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb forms, tense consistency, and missing articles. Examples include 'the trend of change happened at college cafe', 'what it look like now', 'two rooms staff dining change', and 'new entrance and exit door build'. Punctuation and subject-verb agreement also show consistent errors. To improve your grammar score, you should focus on mastering basic sentence structures, ensuring correct passive voice formations, and proofreading carefully for tense consistency when describing past and present states.
