The given maps compares a college cafe before it was redesigned and how it looks now. There maps depict all four sides area with full details.

Overall, it is evident that a college cafe before it was redesigned and how it looks now went throug several prominent changes in term of residence, transportation, business, plantation, sports, entertainment, medical facilities, and many more with the passage of time. However, a few things remained intact.

Let's have a look at cafe before redesign, there were staff dining room, kitchen and serving area( all food and drink) in the north, accompanied by bin in the east. Furthermore, nothing were present in the west with toilets in the south and tables and chairs in center.

Pouring some light on the modifications in the cafe today, now some new infrastructures take away food, coffee bar, salad bar, barbecue, outdoor seeting, hot meals, and recycling bins oppositely, a few things like toilets, table and chairs and kitchen remained same. While staff dining rooms, and serving area is no more.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

Please note that the response is two words short of the 150-word minimum requirement. The candidate responds to the task only minimally, as the selection of information is heavily flawed and confused. The writer hallucinates features completely unrelated to a college café, such as 'residence, transportation, business, plantation, sports, entertainment, medical facilities'. While some actual features are mentioned (such as the kitchen, toilets, and tables), the overall summary lacks an accurate and clear overview of the main changes shown in the plans, presenting tangential and irrelevant information that prevents a higher score.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

Information and ideas are not arranged coherently throughout the response. Although there is an attempt to structure the text into an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs, the logical progression is hindered by poor transitions and informal, conversational phrasing like 'Let's have a look at cafe before redesign' and 'Pouring some light on the modifications'. Cohesive devices are used mechanically or inaccurately, and referencing within and across sentences is frequently unclear, creating confusion for the reader regarding the spatial relationships of the café layout.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and heavily repetitive, with noticeable errors that strain communication. The candidate relies on simple descriptive words and makes severe lexical choices, such as stating the café went through changes in 'plantation' and 'medical facilities', which are entirely inappropriate for the context of a college café plan. There are also spelling errors, such as 'seeting' instead of 'seating' and 'throug' instead of 'through'. The lexical range is limited and inadequate for a precise comparison of visual data.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response features a very limited range of grammatical structures, and errors are frequent. There are notable issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'The given maps compares' instead of 'compare' and 'There maps depict' instead of 'These'. Other errors include awkward phrasing like 'nothing were present' and incomplete or run-on sentence structures. While simple sentences are occasionally controlled, attempts at more complex formulations are frequently faulty, causing difficulty for the reader and distorting the intended meaning.
