Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting an overview of the main features and reporting key changes between the two plans, which places it at this level. You successfully identified major modifications such as the addition of the outdoor seating, the barbecue area, and the conversion of staff rooms into a coffee bar and takeaway food section. However, some aspects of your information reporting remain somewhat under-developed or general, such as the vague mention of facilities being added without fully integrating all spatial relationships clearly. To reach a higher level, you should ensure that all significant details are extended and supported with greater precision, providing a fully developed comparison across both diagrams.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the information into an introduction, overview, past layout, and present layout. Paragraphing is utilized to separate different sections of the report. Nonetheless, cohesion is occasionally mechanical and faulty, with repetitive transition markers and mechanical links like 'while' and 'Furthermore' used rather awkwardly at the start of sentences. Referencing is also not always clear, leading to a disjointed flow in places. For instance, sentences like 'while, Bin and Toilets was situated in the east and south' disrupt the logical progression. Improving the flexibility of cohesive devices and ensuring smoother transitions between ideas will significantly enhance the overall cohesion of your writing.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to describe common features and changes using basic descriptive terms like 'kitchen', 'tables and chairs', and 'toilets'. You attempt less common vocabulary items such as 'redesigned', 'redevelopment', and 'outdoor seating', but these attempts are accompanied by noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, spelling, and word forms, such as 'revemping', 'take awat', 'coffe', and 'bggest'. Furthermore, some collocations are awkward, such as 'near built a Barbecue shops'. These errors do not completely impede communication, but they restrict your score. To achieve a higher band, you need to expand your lexical range, improve spelling accuracy, and use less common academic vocabulary with greater precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The writing displays a limited mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar is weak. There are frequent errors in verb forms, subject-verb agreement, and articles throughout the text. Examples include 'The plans depicts', 'kitchen was built the north side', 'staff dining rooms was attached', and 'Table and chairs were same'. Additionally, punctuation and sentence boundaries are poorly managed, with clauses frequently strung together incorrectly or introduced with dangling prepositions. Because these errors occur frequently and cause some difficulty for the reader, your control of grammar remains limited. To improve, you need to focus on mastering basic sentence construction, accurate use of prepositions, and correct verb tenses when describing visual data.
