Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You identify the main transformation clearly: the former staff dining rooms become takeaway and coffee facilities, a salad bar and outdoor seating are added, and the serving counter changes to hot meals. Your overview also notes that the central seating and toilets remain. These are relevant, accurate comparisons, and the response covers the main changes well. To make the account more complete, report the new southern doors and the four outdoor tables, and describe the recycling bins as replacing the single bin rather than saying the area was expanded. The overview phrase “some of them are remained changed” is unclear, so it does not effectively summarise what stayed the same. More precise coverage of these details would strengthen an already relevant response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overall summary, and a paragraph describing individual changes. The sequence from the southern and western additions to the former staff rooms and then the eastern and northern features gives the reader a workable route through the plans. However, the overview is difficult to interpret, and several transitions feel mechanical, particularly the repeated “In addition,” “Furthermore,” and “In the middle.” The final paragraph also moves between locations without a clear organising principle. Grouping changes by what was added, replaced, or retained—and using clearer links between those groups—would make the progression more consistent and the referencing easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use a suitable range of map vocabulary, including “adjacent,” “converted,” “western part,” and “remained unchanged,” which helps communicate spatial changes. Some attempts at more specific wording are inaccurate or awkward: “Bin area was expanded” suggests a physical enlargement not shown, while “Barbeque sections” and “spacious outdoor seating” are not precise descriptions of the plan. Spelling slips such as “recyclilng,” “Furthurmore,” and “souther” also reduce accuracy. Aim for standard labels and natural collocations, for example, “the bin was replaced by recycling bins” and “a barbecue area was added.” This would make the vocabulary more precise without requiring a much wider range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex forms, including the overview clause beginning “with several facilities being added” and the relative clause “which was then replaced by hot meals.” However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction are frequent enough to make some sentences awkward or unclear. For example, “some of them are remained changed” has an incorrect verb pattern, and “A new Barbeque sections being added” lacks a correctly formed main verb and has a number mismatch. “Bin area was expanded and renamed it” also combines incompatible structures. Practise forming complete past-tense sentences and checking subject–verb agreement; these corrections would improve clarity while preserving your attempts at varied structures.
