Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the main redesign clearly: the former serving area becomes a hot-meal counter, the staff dining rooms are replaced by takeaway food and a coffee bar, and outdoor seating with a barbecue is added. You also mention the salad bar and recycling bins, so the response covers several relevant changes. However, some details are unclear or inaccurate: the recycling bins are described as becoming larger, whereas the plan only shows them replacing the single bin; and “all hug places are divided into two parts” is not a clear or supported comparison. The central tables and chairs and the toilets remain, but these unchanged features are not reported. A more precise overview and clearer descriptions of the layout changes would make the account more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a basic overall shape, beginning with an introduction and then describing changes, and it uses a few linking expressions such as “overall,” “In addition,” and “finally.” However, the progression is difficult to follow because several points are repeated: the serving area and staff dining rooms are described in both the second and third paragraphs. The paragraphing does not consistently separate the overview from specific details, and references such as “all hug places” and “left side” are unclear. Organise the response into a concise overview followed by grouped comparisons—for example, changes inside the café and additions outside—and use linking phrases only where they clarify how the features relate.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “serving area,” “hot meals,” “take away food,” “salad bar,” and “outdoor seating,” which helps communicate the main changes. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make the description less precise, such as “out door sitting,” “cafe bare,” “dinning rooms,” and “enhance the value.” Some phrases are also vague, particularly “all hug places” and “become large.” Aim for accurate map vocabulary and natural collocations: describe facilities as being “replaced by,” “converted into,” or “added,” and use “outdoor seating” consistently. Careful spelling and more precise terms would make the information easier to understand.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the reader can generally identify the changes being described. However, sentence structures and grammatical control are inconsistent. For example, “the plan in two structure show” has problems with subject–verb agreement and sentence formation, while “the kitchen serving area replace into hot meals” lacks an appropriate verb form and construction. Articles and plurals are also often missing or inconsistent, as in “staff dinning rooms converted” and “recycle bin.” Punctuation and capitalisation are limited, with several ideas joined into long sentences. Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use past-tense passive forms for changes, such as “was replaced by” and “were converted into.”
