Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You identify several important changes accurately: the staff dining rooms become takeaway and coffee-bar areas, the serving counter is relabelled for hot meals, the bin becomes recycling bins, and new outdoor seating and a barbecue are added. You also note that the kitchen, central tables and chairs, and toilets remain. This covers the main before-and-after comparison and gives a relevant overall impression. However, the overview is repetitive and evaluative (“a number of positive changes”) rather than clearly summarising the main pattern of redesign. Some details are underdeveloped: for example, the new salad bar’s position and the southern doors connecting to the outdoor area could be stated more precisely. A concise overview of the key changes would make the response more complete and precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction to a general comparison, then specific changes and a concluding comment. Linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “Additionally” help signal added information. However, progression is weakened by repetition: “a drastic upgrading” and “a noticeable change” express much the same point, while the conclusion repeats the idea that the redesign is more efficient and appealing. The sequence of details also shifts between areas without a clear organising principle. Grouping changes by interior features and then outdoor additions would make the account easier to follow. Some connections are awkward, particularly “To conclude the redesigning structure and by comparing it before and after,” so use simpler, clearer transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “salad bar,” “recycling bins,” “staff dining rooms,” and “outdoor seating,” which allows the reader to understand the main changes. There are also attempts at more descriptive language, such as “utilized efficiently” and “drastic upgrading.” However, several spelling errors—“palns,” “rennovation,” “collge,” and “resdesigning”—reduce accuracy. Some word choices and collocations are unnatural or imprecise: “place designated for table and chairs,” “was taken place by,” and “the redesigning structure” do not express the intended ideas naturally. Aim for straightforward, accurate map vocabulary such as “area,” “replaced by,” and “redesigned,” rather than forcing elaborate phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast between features that remained and those that changed. Meaning is generally recoverable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “Certain areas like salad bar was introduced” has an article and subject–verb agreement problem; “now has replaced with hot meals” is missing the appropriate passive construction; and “As more the space is being used now” is an incomplete, awkward clause. The sentence beginning “To conclude” also lacks a clear grammatical structure. Practise accurate passive forms for describing changes (“was replaced by”) and check articles, agreement, and sentence completeness. More controlled sentence patterns would improve clarity while retaining variety.
