Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify several important changes, including the new takeaway and coffee-bar sections, the salad bar, and outdoor seating with a barbecue. However, some details are inaccurate or unclear: the hot-meals counter replaces the former serving area, not the other way around, and the recycling bins replace the single bin. The statement that the café’s area has expanded is not supported by the plans; the outdoor seating is an added feature, but the indoor footprint is not shown as larger. There is also no clear overview that groups the main changes. To strengthen the response, summarise the overall redesign first, then report the key changes accurately and distinguish additions from replacements.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The response moves through several features in a roughly before-and-after order, so the reader can identify the topic. However, ideas are crowded into one paragraph and the progression is difficult to follow. Connectors such as “Additionally,” “However,” and “on the other hand” are used, but some do not express the relationship clearly; for example, “on the other hand” does not set up a meaningful contrast between the two new sections. The opening repeats the comparison without giving a clear overview, and the final comments about “more aesthetic vibes” do not follow naturally from the factual description. Use separate paragraphs for the overview and the main changes, and group related indoor and outdoor features.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant plan vocabulary, including “kitchen,” “serving area,” “coffee bar,” “salad bar,” and “outdoor seating,” which helps convey the subject. However, word choice and spelling are often inaccurate or informal, and several phrases make the meaning hard to interpret. “New entries” does not clearly describe the redesign, while “grabs audience” and “aesthetic vibes” are unsuitable for a neutral report of plans. Errors such as “materiel,” “dinning,” and “Recyling” also reduce precision. Build a more accurate set of terms for describing changes, such as “was converted into,” “was replaced by,” and “was added,” and check spelling before finishing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts to combine ideas using clauses, as in “as I can clearly see” and “as there is small area,” but sentence structures are often faulty, and errors frequently make relationships between features unclear. Examples include “There is a picture of cafe one is the before redesign,” “the tables and chairs section is remained same,” and “Recycling bins is replaced with bins.” Articles, verb forms, agreement, and sentence boundaries need more reliable control. Aim first for clear, complete sentences with a subject and correctly formed verb, then add a few accurate complex sentences using “while,” “whereas,” or “which.”
