Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify several relevant changes, including the kitchen remaining in place, the serving counter becoming a hot-meals area, the staff dining rooms being replaced by a coffee bar and takeaway section, and the addition of outdoor seating and a barbecue. However, the account is only partial and does not give a clear overall summary of the redesign. Some locations are misreported: the bin was on the eastern wall, not to the left of the entrance, and the toilets are in the bottom-right corner, not on the left. The seating details are also inaccurate: each former staff room had four chairs, not six. To strengthen the response, give a concise overview of the main changes and describe positions consistently using the plan’s directions.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response makes an attempt to move from the former layout to the current one, using phrases such as “First of all” and “Now we discus about cafe today.” This gives the reader a basic sense of sequence. However, the information is presented as one continuous paragraph, and the repeated “left side” and “next” do not create a reliable spatial progression. Several sentences join multiple locations or changes without clear relationships, making the layout difficult to picture. Organise the report into a short introduction and overview, followed by separate paragraphs for the old and new plans. Use clear location links such as “along the eastern wall” and “in the south-west” rather than a sequence of conversational directions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “staff dining rooms,” “serving area,” “recycling bins,” “hot meal,” and “outdoor seating.” These terms show awareness of the plan’s features. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, while spelling errors such as “dicuse,” “locaterd,” and “kitchan” make parts of the description harder to understand. Some expressions are also imprecise, for example “dust bin” and “Infront of hotmeal added by salad bar.” Aim for accurate plan vocabulary and more precise location phrases, such as “the former bin was replaced by recycling bins” and “a salad bar was added along the western wall.” Proofreading spelling will also improve clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts to describe both the earlier and current layouts, but it relies mainly on short, loosely connected clauses, and grammatical errors are frequent enough to make some relationships unclear. For example, “it have 6 chairs and a table in every rooms” has problems with subject–verb agreement, articles, and singular/plural forms. “Toilets have been same located” and “kitchan cant chaneged there location” also show difficulty forming accurate verb phrases and possessives. Sentence boundaries and punctuation need attention, particularly where several ideas are joined with “and.” Practise clear past-tense descriptions of the former plan and present-tense descriptions of the current one, checking agreement and articles in each sentence.
