Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You identify the main change clearly: the former staff dining rooms become takeaway and coffee facilities, while the café gains new food options and outdoor seating. The overview also notes that the layout has been substantially developed, and most reported locations are relevant. However, some details are inaccurate or unclear: the toilets were in the bottom-right corner, not the northeast, and the barbecue is southwest of the building rather than simply a shop on the western side. The description of the original kitchen and serving area as being in the “northsouthern area” is also difficult to interpret. To make the account more complete and precise, describe the new southern doors and outdoor tables, and distinguish the salad bar from the barbecue.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate descriptions of the former and current layouts. This makes the comparison easy to follow, and the contrast between the staff dining rooms and the new takeaway and coffee areas is placed effectively. Some progression is less smooth within the detail paragraphs, however. The present-day paragraph moves from the kitchen and seating to bins, then back to the former staff rooms, before mentioning the outdoor features. Grouping changes by location—for example, north, west, east, then south—would create a more systematic account. The repeated use of “In past” and “In present-day” is understandable but somewhat mechanical; clearer transitions such as “Previously” and “In the redesigned café” would improve flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “transformed,” “maintained,” “facilities,” and “extended,” and the reader can generally understand the changes being described. There are, however, several inaccurate word forms, spellings, and collocations that limit precision: “developements,” “dinning,” “maintianed,” and “recycle bins.” “Food stalls” and “barbecue shops” are also not suitable descriptions of the features shown; these are a hot-meal counter and a barbecue area. The phrase “northsouthern area” is unclear. Aim for accurate, conventional map vocabulary and check spelling, especially for key labels. More precise terms such as “counter,” “seating area,” and “recycling bins” would make the description more natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and more complex forms, including the overview clause “Staff dining rooms have been replaced by…” and the sentence describing facilities added to the café. Meaning is usually recoverable, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “cafe has undergone” needs an article, and “The kitchen, tables and chair arrangement, toilets has been maintained” has a subject–verb agreement problem and an awkwardly constructed list. In “the toilets were located,” the tense is appropriate, but the location itself is inaccurate rather than a grammar issue. Work on articles, plural agreement, and consistent sentence construction; for instance, “The kitchen, seating area and toilets have remained in their original positions” is clearer and grammatically controlled.
