The two images illustrates the design of a pervious and a recent college cafe . Overall, the restauration services have been upgraded with an outdoor space has been added for seating.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

The response gives a clear overview that the café services were upgraded and outdoor seating was added, then compares the former and current layouts. It accurately identifies the kitchen, staff dining rooms’ replacement by takeaway and coffee-bar areas, the new salad bar, and the continued presence of the central seating and toilets. The barbecue and outdoor tables are also reported. This covers the main changes and keeps the description relevant. To make the account more fully developed, describe the new southern access to the outdoor area and clarify that the recycling bins occupy the former bin’s position. The phrase “same plan is reserved” is also too broad, since several facilities and the layout have changed, even though the central seating and toilets remain.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a sensible overall progression: it introduces the comparison, describes the former café, and then moves to the current design. Paragraphing supports this sequence, and signposts such as “To begin with” and “Regarding current transformation” help readers follow the shift between plans. The overview also gives the description a clear focus. However, some links are mechanical or unclear, particularly “Besides” and “In terms of the opposite outdoor space.” The long final paragraph packs several changes together, and missing spaces after full stops make the transitions less smooth. Grouping the current indoor changes separately from the outdoor additions, and using clearer references such as “In the redesigned café” and “Outside, to the south,” would make the progression more controlled.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The response uses relevant vocabulary for describing a café plan, including “staff dining rooms,” “hot meals,” “salad bar,” and “outdoor space.” It also attempts a range of descriptive expressions, so the meaning is generally recoverable. However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “pervious” for “previous,” “restauration services,” “haul,” “dinning,” and “reccling” are inaccurate or unsuitable in this context. Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “a specific place for hot meals is added” and “a new Barbecue site is introduced.” Use standard plan-description terms and check spelling carefully; for example, “a hot-meal counter was added” and “a barbecue area was introduced” are clearer and more idiomatic.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

There are attempts to use both simple and more complex sentences, including the overview’s clause about outdoor seating and the sentence beginning “Regarding current transformation.” However, errors in agreement, articles, tense, and sentence construction are frequent enough to make some sentences awkward. For example, “The two images illustrates” should use a plural verb, while “toilets was situated” has incorrect agreement. The opening phrase “with an outdoor space has been added” combines structures incorrectly; use “and an outdoor seating area has been added.” The present description also shifts between tenses, as in “is added” and “are separated,” where past forms would suit a completed redesign. Proofread each sentence for subject–verb agreement and keep the tense consistent.
