Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You identify the main transformation: the staff dining rooms are replaced by takeaway and coffee facilities, the serving counter becomes a hot-meal counter, and outdoor seating with a barbecue is added. The overview also recognises that the café gains amenities. Some details, however, are inaccurate or unclear. The salad bar is on the western wall, not the south-eastern side, and the outdoor seating is reached through new doors in the southern wall; it is not described as being near the entrance. The final seating description is also confusing: the plan shows four outdoor tables, not a clear arrangement of eight people in the centre and four at each corner. More precise coverage of the unchanged kitchen, central seating and toilets would make the comparison more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction and overview to details about the interior and then the outdoor area. This gives the reader a coherent overall route through the comparison. However, some sequencing and references are difficult to follow: “On the south-eastern side” introduces the salad bar even though it is on the western wall, and “outdoor stepup” does not clearly identify the new southern doors or seating area. Linking phrases such as “Furthermore” and “Moreover” help connect points, but the paragraphing and transitions sometimes feel mechanical. Organise the details by location or by changes versus unchanged features, and use clearer references to each part of the plan to strengthen progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “renovated,” “amenities,” “recycling,” and “seating area,” and the reader can generally understand the intended changes. There are also attempts at more precise language, such as “opposite to the kitchen,” although this relationship is not clearly supported by the plan. Several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward: “outdoor stepup,” “recycling model,” and “arranged with 8 people seating” do not naturally describe the features shown. Spelling errors such as “revelas,” “permises,” and “enterance” also reduce accuracy. Use standard plan-description terms such as “was added,” “recycling bins,” and “seating for” to make descriptions more precise and natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including the overview sentence beginning “Overall” and the clause “which increases dining area.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. For example, “major developments are carried out” uses an unsuitable tense for describing a completed redesign; “staff dining rooms are slated to be replaced” also shifts awkwardly into a future construction. Articles and sentence boundaries need attention in phrases such as “addition of variety of amenities” and “coffee bar.The bin.” The final sentence is long and its structure makes the seating arrangement hard to interpret. Keep the past tense consistent for changes, check articles, and divide complex descriptions into shorter, controlled sentences.
