Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify several important changes, including the replacement of the serving area with a hot-meals counter, the conversion of the staff dining rooms into takeaway and coffee sections, the new salad bar, recycling bins, and outdoor seating with a barbecue. These details are generally grounded in the plans, and you also note that the toilets remain unchanged. However, the overview is vague: “dramatic changes” and “provide so much facilities” do not clearly summarise the main pattern of redesign. Some details are unclear or imprecise, such as saying the changes occurred “in tables and chairs area.” To strengthen the response, state the main contrast directly—for example, that the interior gained new food-service facilities and the café expanded outdoors—and describe the key locations more precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic overall structure, moving from changes inside the café to the outdoor additions, followed by a concluding overview. This gives the reader a general route through the information. However, the first main paragraph places many changes into one long sequence, and links such as “while,” “afterthat,” and “also” do not always show the relationships clearly. The final paragraph repeats the idea of change without adding a distinct summary. Use separate, clearly focused paragraphs for the interior and exterior, and group related features together. More precise referencing and transitions would also help readers follow which area each change concerns.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “serving area,” “hot meals,” “salad bar,” “recycling bins,” and “outdoor seating,” so the main features can often be recognised. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the description difficult to interpret. For example, “changes evaluting” and “the new redesigned looks” do not express the intended meaning naturally, while “facilities provided” is repeated. Spelling errors such as “kitichen,” “chnages,” and “beauitiful” also reduce clarity. Build a more precise set of verbs for plan descriptions, such as “was replaced by,” “was converted into,” and “was added,” and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to combine ideas in longer sentences, for example when describing the kitchen, seating area, and staff rooms together. However, these complex sentences are often faulty, and the response shows limited control of agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction. Examples include “the first changes has been saw,” “the staff dining rooms has been renovated,” and “the barbecue have been contructed.” The final sentence, “The new redesigned looks of cafe very beauitiful,” is also missing a clear verb and has an incomplete structure. Practise writing shorter, complete sentences first, then combine related information using accurate clauses. Check subject–verb agreement and use consistent past-tense forms for changes made during the redesign.
