Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You give a clear overview of the main change, noting that new customer facilities were added, and you accurately identify the outdoor seating, barbecue, salad bar, replacement of the staff dining rooms, hot-meals counter, recycling bins, and features that remained. This addresses the task well and shows a sound grasp of the plans. Some details could be more precise: the two northern rooms became separate take-away and coffee-bar sections, and the outdoor seating is reached through new doors in the southern wall. The statement that areas were replaced “for customers’ attraction” is also general rather than a clear description of the redesign. Including these specifics would make the account more fully developed and precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction and overview are followed by paragraphs on additions and replacements or unchanged features. This gives the reader a logical route through the comparison, and phrases such as “Overall,” “Regarding,” and “Additionally” help signal relationships. However, some linking is mechanical, and the final paragraph groups several changes together without a smooth progression. “While” begins a fragment after a full stop, and “However” does not express a clear contrast with the preceding list. Use complete sentences and organise the interior changes in a consistent order, such as north, west, then east, to make the progression more fluent.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for describing a plan, including “redeveloped,” “introduced,” “converted,” and “remained largely unchanged.” These choices communicate the main transformations, and some less common wording shows an attempt to vary expression. However, several collocations are awkward or imprecise: “replaced for customers’ attraction” does not naturally describe the purpose of the changes, and “placed properly” is vague. “Food take away counter” is also less natural than “take-away food area.” There are spelling errors in “toiltes” and “reamined,” and “staff dining room” would be more accurate as plural because the plan shows two rooms. More precise plan-related vocabulary and careful proofreading would improve control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and more complex forms, including the overview sentence and the participle construction “with tables and chairs being placed.” Most of the meaning remains clear, but some grammatical errors persist. “Outdoor seating area was developed” needs an article, while “While, serving area…” is an incomplete clause and the comma after “While” is misplaced. The sentence beginning “Some areas were replaced…” is also awkwardly formed. There is some effective use of passive forms, such as “was replaced” and “was converted,” but greater control of articles, clause boundaries, and punctuation is needed. Aim to make each comparison a complete sentence and check that introductory clauses connect correctly.
