Student answer (Band 5.0)
Cafes are more likely have same floor plans but some differs. As the traditional cafe is too huge and covers all necessary points for peoples. Some noticable key changes are made in these plans.
The noticable differences we can see is in the whole cafe. Let's talk about kitchen area first before the changes are made in plan the sub division of kitchen is called Area where bunch of things available now in today cafe plan the sub division converted to Hot meals area where fresh food is available. Now when we come towards the big lounge attached to kitchen you see before it is used as Staff dining area containing two sub portions those are now converted into the left one into the take away food point and next to it into coffee bar utilizing small spaces into perfect manner.
While in the big lounge on the left in front of kitchen door you see Salad Bar is new addition and also on the right far most you see the bin before it is changed to multiple bins for different types of trash. The amjor upgrade in cafe plan is the Barbecue outside the lounge in open area and the seating capacity is increased more to adapt more people.
Overall the changes are huge and can play a best part in optimizing less space.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify several genuine changes, including the conversion of the former staff dining rooms into takeaway and coffee areas, the addition of a salad bar and barbecue, and the replacement of the bin with recycling bins. However, the response only partially covers the plans: it does not clearly describe the new outdoor seating or note that the toilets and central seating area remain. Some details are inaccurate or unclear, such as calling the kitchen’s former serving area a “sub division” and saying the seating capacity increased without explaining the added outdoor tables. The overview that “the changes are huge” is too general to summarise the main pattern. A clearer overview and more precise comparisons of what changed and what stayed the same would strengthen the report.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic paragraph structure and attempts to guide the reader with phrases such as “Let’s talk about kitchen area first” and “Now when we come towards.” It also moves broadly from the kitchen and former staff rooms to other changes. However, the progression is not consistently clear: several features are crowded into long sentences, and references such as “the big lounge on the left” and “the left one” make it difficult to identify the areas being described. Linking phrases are sometimes conversational or repetitive rather than helping organise comparisons. Group the changes by location or by what was retained versus added, and use clear references such as “the former staff rooms” and “the eastern wall” to make the description easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for describing a plan, including “converted,” “addition,” “seating capacity,” and “recycling bins.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or vague, which sometimes makes the layout hard to understand. For example, “sub division of kitchen,” “big lounge,” and “perfect manner” do not describe the plan precisely; “huge” and “best part” are also informal or imprecise for this report. There are noticeable spelling errors, including “noticable” and “amjor,” and repeated use of “area” and “changes.” Build a more precise set of terms for locations and facilities, and check spelling and collocations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt longer sentences and use some time contrasts, such as “before the changes are made” and “now in today cafe plan,” but the structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make parts of the description difficult to follow. Examples include “Cafes are more likely have,” “some differs,” and “The noticable differences … is,” which show problems with verb forms and agreement. Missing or incorrect articles and sentence boundaries also affect clarity, as in “before it is used as Staff dining area containing two sub portions those are now converted.” Use shorter, complete sentences first, with consistent past and present tenses for before and now; then add subordinate clauses only when their grammar is secure.
