This plan illustrates that the layout of the college cafe before and after the renovations we made.
Overall, the cafe has undergone ample of alterations to utilize the space in more better way. The redesigning has appeared to use the available space more useful not only for students but also for staff and other purposes.
Earlier there was only one counter to serve food and drinks but now it has different counters for different food items such as, hot meals, a salad bar, take away food & coffee bar. Apart from this, new seating is set for people who are will willing to sit outside when the inside seatings are full and barbecue station is new addition. Recycling bins area has also been increased as increase in sitting area.
Keeping the kitchen area & toilets area same in size and place, all inclusive designing has been changed to keeping the layout of the cafe simple to modern yet judicially using the space to its best use and providing additional services.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You identify the main change from one general serving counter to several food and drink facilities, and you include the new outdoor seating and barbecue. Your overview also recognises that the kitchen and toilets remain in place, so the response covers the central before-and-after picture. However, some important changes are only broadly described: the former staff dining rooms are not explicitly identified as the spaces converted to takeaway food and a coffee bar, and the entrance arrangement and central seating area receive little attention. The claim that recycling-bin space “has also been increased” is not supported by the plan, which shows bins replacing a bin in the same wall position. More precise comparisons and clearer reporting of what was removed would complete the account.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs describing changes and retained features. This gives the reader a general progression from the overall redesign to specific facilities. Linking phrases such as “Overall,” “Earlier,” “Apart from this,” and “Keeping” help signal relationships between ideas. However, the body information is compressed into long sentences, and several changes are bundled together without a clear spatial or before-and-after sequence. For example, the sentence beginning “Apart from this” moves from outdoor seating to the barbecue and then recycling bins. Some references, such as “this” and “all inclusive designing,” are unclear. Grouping internal changes separately from outdoor additions and using more precise links would make the organisation easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “counter,” “salad bar,” “outdoor seating,” “barbecue station,” and “recycling bins,” which helps convey the redesign. There is also an attempt to use less common language, such as “ample” and “judicially,” but several choices are inaccurate or unnatural and sometimes obscure the intended meaning. Examples include “ample of alterations,” “use the available space more useful,” and “all inclusive designing.” “Seatings” is also not the natural plural in this context; “seating” is generally uncountable. Aim for precise, conventional language for describing plans, such as “substantial changes,” “make better use of the space,” and “the overall layout.” This would improve clarity while retaining an appropriate range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of sentence forms, including a contrast with “Earlier … but now” and a participial opening in “Keeping the kitchen area & toilets area same in size and place.” However, control is uneven, and errors in sentence construction and word forms recur. For example, “the layout … before and after the renovations we made” creates an awkward, unclear clause; “people who are will willing to sit outside” contains a faulty verb sequence; and “as increase in sitting area” lacks a grammatical article and structure. The final sentence also has an unclear construction after “changed to.” Use shorter, complete sentences to report each comparison, and check verb forms, articles, and clause structure. More accurate control of these patterns would make your meaning consistently clear.
